Mobile Apps
Mobile apps that earn a place on the home screen.
We design and build iOS and Android apps for companies that need software people will actually use, every day. From customer-facing apps to field-team tools, AppStartDev delivers mobile products that hold up under real usage and real expectations.
Common builds
Native and cross-platform mobile apps for customers, internal teams, sales reps, field operators, and connected products. Common builds: customer-facing apps with auth and payments, field-data capture tools, inventory or job apps for technicians, marketplace apps, content / media apps.
Decisions that matter
Native versus cross-platform, and when each wins.
There is no universal right answer for mobile. The right call depends on the team, the product, the platform features you depend on, and how often you ship. We help you pick honestly.
Native (Swift, Kotlin) wins when…
You lean hard on platform features, custom animations and performance matter, or you have separate teams for each platform.
React Native or Flutter win when…
Most of the UI is shared, you ship to both stores from one team, and the time saved outweighs the platform compromises.
Web wrapped in a shell loses by default.
If a website would do the job, ship a website. App store presence does not justify the engineering tax.
Store review is real engineering work.
Privacy disclosures, build pipelines, in-app purchase flows, and policy changes that arrive without warning. We have shipped through all of it.
How an engagement runs
Step 1
Discover
Goals, users, systems, constraints, risks.
Step 2
Shape
Release plan, design direction, scope clarity.
Step 3
Build
Focused cycles, working software, regular reviews.
Step 4
Ship & Support
Performance, security, QA, deployment, handoff.
Stacks we work with
Store submission, build pipelines, and release management are covered in the FAQ below. They are activities, not technologies, so they don't appear in the tech tag chips.
Hire us when this is true
When the app needs to integrate with existing systems, when you have non-trivial offline / sync requirements, when the team using it has high expectations for daily usability, or when an existing app has technical debt slowing the roadmap.
FAQ
Native or cross-platform?
It depends on the product, audience, and feature complexity. We recommend the option that fits the work, not the one that's trendy. For most business apps, modern cross-platform stacks deliver excellent results. For graphics-heavy or deeply OS-integrated apps, native is the right call.
Can you handle App Store and Play Store submissions?
Yes. We handle build pipelines, signing, metadata, screenshots, and submission. We also handle store listings, version management, and post-launch updates.
What about the backend?
We can build the mobile app, the backend, and the integrations as one engagement. Or we can build only the app and connect to your existing API. Both are normal.
